Storage units are intended for ordinary household and business belongings. Some materials create fire, health, legal, or property risks and should never be placed in a unit.
Flammable materials
Do not store gasoline, propane, fireworks, solvents, or other flammable liquids and gases. Even small amounts can create a serious fire and vapor hazard.
Engines or equipment containing gasoline
Harper Mini-Storage does not allow engines with gasoline in the unit. That includes lawnmowers, motorcycles, and similar equipment. Do not assume that closing a fuel valve or partially draining a tank makes the item acceptable.
Perishable food and anything that attracts pests
Fresh food, open food packages, and other perishables can spoil or attract insects and rodents. If shelf-stable food is allowed under your written agreement, keep it sealed and follow all contract requirements.
Hazardous, illegal, or stolen property
Never store illegal drugs, stolen property, toxic chemicals, explosives, or materials that cannot legally or safely be kept at the facility.
Living things
A storage unit is not a place for people, animals, or plants to live or remain. Never use a unit as a residence, workplace, or animal enclosure.
Read the written rental agreement
This article is a general guide, not the complete list of prohibited items. The written storage contract signed by the tenant controls the rental and may contain additional restrictions.
